UP nursing homes association was formed in the
year 2000 in Lucknow at Krishna Medical center.
The representative body of nursing homes of UP
was formed and elected Dr.Saroj Srivastava as
President and Dr.S.K.Bhasin as Secretary of the
association.
Association started with branches in KAVAL towns
of the state and gradually had its branches in
almost all the cities of the state. Association
also started its annual conference in year 2000
as UPNCON which was carried forward till today.
UPNCON was hosted by Lucknow for first 3 years
and then by Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Gorakhpur and
Agra. Association also started its news paper
with the name of Nursing Home Bulletin in the
year 2001. This is the only news paper of its
kind in the country. In the year 2007 the NHB
was made available on the official web site
UPNHA at
www.upnha.com.
Association has a strength of more than 2000 member nursing homes.
Association has worked for the benefit of the
nursing homes in the state. It has negotiated
with government for various issues concerning
the nursing homes. It has also protected its
members from undue harassment by administration,
government departments and police.
Association has started celebration of Nursing
Home Day from 2006. This is an effort of the
association to bring forward the pride of
nursing homes and their useful contribution in
the society. Association is working for the
benefit of its members and providing better
health care to the state of UP.
Association represented various cause of Nursing Homes in U.P. to government and court. Association was instrumental in formation area. UPNHA also started certificate examination to asses and certify the acceptable level of knowledge in Hospital work for Nursing home staff having no diploma degree but ample working knowledge.
At present branches of the association are in most cities in state and is representing for more than 3000 Nursing homes in state through them. |
